Abstract

This research aimed to study the evaluation of academic performance standards for teachers in the faculties of Idlib University, where the number of teaching and technical staff members reached 292 teachers. The aim was to identify the academic performance standards that are of greatest interest to the university's faculty members, as well as to determine the percentage of each of the studied standards (quality of teaching, performance and research activity, academic supervision, community service, competence and professional development). This was carried out by the hierarchical analysis method. The necessary data for the study were collected through a questionnaire designed for this purpose and was distributed the members of the studied sample. This research used the descriptive approach to monitor and follow up the academic performance of faculty members at Idlib University, and to obtain results and generalizations that help in understanding the reality of academic performance and ways to develop it. This approach collects, analyzes, interprets data, and reports the current status of academic performance indicators in the faculties of Idlib University studied. The research concluded that the use of the analytical hierarchy method measuring the efficiency of academic performance of faculty members. It was found that the highest relative importance was for the standard of teaching quality, and the standards of both academic supervision and research activity had medium importance. As for the standards (professional development - community service - administrative tasks), was low.
