The Relationship between Istihsan and Specification of the Illah *(A Usul al-Fiqh Study)*

Abstract

The research examines the definition of istihsan both linguistically and technically. Additionally, It discusses the debate among scholars about its validity as a legal proof, as well as its various types. Further, it proceeds to study *taḫṣīṣ al-‘illah*, (Specification of the Cause), defining it both linguistically and technically, and exploring its relationship with *istihsan* along with the scholars' perspectives on this matter.

The research employed an inductive and analytical methodology, tracing the various aspects of the topic through an exhaustive review of scholarly material and jurists' opinions on the matter, followed by an analysis of the relationship between these concepts and its nature
