Through this study, it has been shown that cationic surfactants can be synthesized by separating fatty acids from a vegetable oil, and introducing them in a series of reactions (Methanolic Esterification, followed by Di-ethanol amide production through a reaction between the Methanolic Ester and Di-ethanolamine, then a new Esterification for the Hydroxylic groups by a pure and natural fatty acid, At the end, we can convert it to Quaternary Ammonium Salts in a presences of Hydrogen Chloride) resulting in cationic materials of Greasy texture and able to reduce surface tension at a low financial cost compared to those prepared from industrial sources.
The reaction yield has exceeded 85% in most of its stages. and the final compounds reduced the surface tension of water about 50% when it was used at 0.25gr/100ml concentration.
